We fly from an enchanted valley hidden below rural Montisi in Southern Tuscany; this is the real old Tuscany, a Tuscany as yet almost untouched by tourism with forests, vineyards and historical towns. From many years of experience; we now know that the region around Montisi, with its access to both Le Crete di Senesi and La Val d’Orcia regions, truly offers the most spectacular balloon flights. Montepulciano
The medieval town of Montepulciano is surrounded by rolling hills with vineyards and olive groves. Famous worldwide for vino Nobile, it is one of Tuscany’s prettiest towns. We take off from the grounds of Relais Ortaglia, a 17th century Tuscan villa on the outskirts of Montepulciano.
Montalcino
The picturesque hill town of Montalcino enjoys spectacular views over Val d’Orcia and is home to the world-famous Brunello di Montalcino wine. We take off from the grounds of the Casato Prime Donne vineyard which is Italy’s first all-woman vineyard located on the outskirts of Montalcino towards Buonconvento.
Siena
We have 3 launch sites in the immediate vicinity of Siena and we will choose the site that will give us the best possible flight depending on the wind direction. We will always meet at our main take-off site just to the Southeast of Siena at Casetta. It is also possible to have your own private guide in the air while flying over Siena and the surrounding areas. Avignonesi – Wine in the sky
Early morning take off with the hot air balloon from the Avignonesi winery near Montepulciano.
This is a flight over the winery and vineyards with landing in the surrounding countryside followed by a tour of the cellars and a brunch prepared by the winery chefs and paired with 4 premium wines and the renowned Avignonesi Vin Santo.
Monte Chiaro Winery – Wine Brunch

This is a flight over the winery and vineyards with landing in the surrounding countryside followed by a tour of the cellars and a brunch prepared by the winery chefs and paired with premium wines.
Cortona
We have 3 launch sites in the valley called Val d’ Chiana just to the west and below Cortona. We always use the same meeting point and then choose the launch site that will give us the best possible flight depending on the wind direction.
Backup Locations
On rare occasions, we can’t fly from our chosen launch site for one reason or another. So, in order to be able to fly, the pilot will decide to move the flight to our nearest suitable backup site. If we have to change launch site for reasons outside of our control, we will write this very clearly on our Flight Status page that you will be checking the day before your flight to also see at what time the flight is called on in the morning.
Although it’s rare to have to move a flight, there could be a number of reasons for doing so. It could for instance be that the intended launch field has become waterlogged after heavy rain or it could be a wind direction taking the balloon towards a large lake or a large area of dense forest, etc. The pilot’s main priority is your safety and a flight would not be moved to a backup site unless there is a very good reason to do so.
